Threw my first turnout from a PC last night!

I finally installed track on my “Brendam Docks” module, bench work has been in place no one for 4-6 weeks. Then hurried through 1-2 tortoise installs (admittedly I have forgotten that efficient process I got so good at on my first install of 18 units). An SE8C and a few minutes of panel pro later …

Nice sounds!

I once threw a boxcar across the room from my work bench…

WOOT!!

Old dogs, new tricks? I installed my first stationary decoder for the Tortoise-controlled turnouts at my carfloat terminal a few weeks back. I’ve been throwing turnouts with control-panel toggles for half a century or more, so it was fun to try something new.

There is nothing like the sense of achievement that this and other PC successes give you when it works. A magic moment that not everyone understands.

Now to confront other challanges.

Well done!

Got to love what we can do today, thank you JMRI.

A little update. I bought a 36-conductor flat ribbon cable (28 gauge) for wiring that pesky connector on the SE8C and now 5 turnouts are in business. I created a “panel” too. I was delighted to see that WiThrottle for iPad shows all the turnouts in thei natural names and I can throw them from the iPad.

Pretty neat.

I just recently set up the JMRI panel (after working through a tutorial) to throw 3 NCE KAT-Switches on my Scenic Ridge layout. I know the feeling. [;)]
