Hi guys was given a eda throttle #213 with forward and reverse, slide up and down for fast and slow
input 17v ac and out 0-12dc it has no power cord to plug in like normal transformer could someone tell me how you hook it up, i have 2 dc controllers hooked up already but only one has ac any help would be great.
thank you

I know my MRC Tech II puts out 17v ac from the Accessory terminals. You might want to get a meter and check to see what your power packs put out. If it puts out around 17v ac it should work. Your throttle must have a transformer in it. Use a meter to check that your throttle is putting out 12-14v dc at full throttle before you try and run a loco with it so you don’t fry it.
No; it requires an external transformer.
It may be an SCR type, in which case most modern low current motors will NOT like it.
It may have a bridge rectifier (and hopefully some filtering) and a transistor.
It may have a bridge rectifier and a reohstat and no active power device - hopefully not.
It should work fine on a AC source in the 14 to 17 V range. A wall-wart like these would be good:

hi and thanks for replying i tried to hook straight to the rails - + but nothing happened i know im a newb at this should there be a power pack to hook up i ran a meter over it and got the readings they were ok i think it needs external transformer what do you think.
thanks again
