I understand the layout builder is a little lazy.

It does have a slight hill, but no tunnel.

I don’t know if it’s true, but I think I remember reading that Hitchcock based the Psycho house on the Hopper painting!

I didn’t see that the stairs were there; they were mostly hidden by the motel roof in the pictures. It’s reasonable selective compression as built… I get it now.

Not visible is a large lake behind the house. Engineers decided the ground wasn’t suitable for tunneling.
