These letters pass through the hands of my wife.

Should I ask for a Tsunami diesel decoder

or

A wireless camera setup for a car to take around the layout.

Has anyone any experience with the wireless camera product from Micro Mark?

Go with the camera,not sure which brand but one of our members has one peeking out of the rear door of his SP observation car and routes the signal to one of our overhead monitors giving the effect that your standing on the rear platform of his obs. very neat and viewers really get a kick out of it.

I would buy a spy camera on Ebay and mount it on a freight car…the cost is a fraction of what MM is charging.

I have the camera and DCC power supply from these guys:

The camera works fine, the power supply works fine, and they re-configured the cabling for me for a nominal $15 charge so that I could fit the camera inside my subway car. It’s a permanent installation requiring no service.

I suspect this camera is no better than one from eBay, though, and it is a lot more expensive.

I’ve had this for 3 or 4 years now. Y’know what? It’s a gimmick. Yeah, it’s cool, and I’ve had a lot of fun making videos, like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQ5OvZtI-QU

But, after a while, it just rides around, and the receiver sits in a box over by the TV, and I don’t use it. The Tsunami in my GP-9, on the other hand, is out there in all its glory every time I power up that engine.

Mister B, you are a treat. What a great subway ride. I know you just went to all that trouble to show off your lighting skills. The cars interior lights certainly show to best advantage in the subway, but I like the cabling along the walls and tunnel and station effort too.

Now, what about the danger of a Pelham 123 scenario? Keep those riders safe now. Better beef up security a bit.
