I have a huge supply of 12v tiny can motors and was trying to find some type of application for them on my HO layout
has anyone used small can motors for the scenic
I was going to make a small satellite dish and beside that

“Tiny” is pretty vague, considering that I’ve seen can motors smaller around than a pencil, up to the diameter of a half-dollar.

Biggest issue would be gearing them down, for scenic animation. Once you figured that out, you’d have something going.

Satellite dishes don’t usually move, so I’m not sure where you’re going with that. Radar, maybe, but they’re normally enclosed in a dome…

ah radar thats what I was thinking of
I have some belt’s and gears
the motor’s I have are not as small as a pencil but just a bit bigger
thanks for the reply

Do they have enough torque to use in a “tortoise” type switch motor?

I seen “tortoise” type and they look large but that was on my mind
they look just like the tortoise

propeller drive motors for planes and copters in an airport scene. You can always use a cheap DC power pack to control the speed instead of gearing it down.

thats too much
I have this clock and I never thought to make plane’s

good one add that to the walmart trip
