I’m sorry for your hurting this morning. Your’s is an old and great nation that has always stood up against the world’s evils. Unlike some other nations that would drop down on thier knees before these animals. They messed with the wrong people today. God bless the UK.
And remember, that they are here in America, too. They smile in our faces everyday when they see us, but they are wanting to kill, and maim, and burn our children. Please remember that, and our friends in UK, as we debate the Patriot’s Act.
The mere, simple pleasure that we model railroads, any railroads we want, from any country or time frame, anytime we want, and to talk freely about our hobby or anything else … makes us thier enemy.
ummmm, OK, I just logged in to see whats happening in model world while I drink my AM caffine fix before work, ( you know I cant stay away for too long [:)]) and I see this. Sooooo WTF happened back in the “homeland”??? I’m going to turn on CNN to see if theres anything on there. Sheeesh.
I just turned on the news. Watching Tony Blair talking with all the world leaders behind him was kind of sobering. Who ever did this is going to be in for a world of hurt. What a bunch of gutless cowards we live with eh? Here the biggest leaders in the world get together to try to help out Africa and this is what they get.
George said it best after 9/11, “You are either with us or against us”. The fools in Europe (not Great Britain) who think they can play ostrich will rue the day they chose that path.
Being from the UK I have lived with this terrible kind of terrorist news coverage all of my life (35). Mainly due to the IRA through the 70’s 80’s with many bombings thoughout England including my home town of Warrington which suffered several bombings, one in the main street where trash cans exploded, when people ran away other trash cans exploded nearby thus people were running into the explosions. A terrible, terrible, horrific situation where many innocent people, including kids from my street died. There have also been some major foriegn attacks on ‘home soil’, the plane at Lockerbie(Scotland) springs to mind.
These ‘people’ will not win, no leader has ever curtailed to their demands, all that their terrorism creates is a deeper resolve and strength within the general public to eliminate their cowardly and evil organisations.
Current numbers say 45 dead 1000 injured, I am sure this will rise throughout the day. A horrific day for the UK and the world.
One thing to remember though is that as of yet we do not know the culprits, if it turns out to be Al Queda or Iraq as is being speculated we must remember that 99.9% of the Iraqi’s are regular folks like you and I, the VERY small minority which are terrorists are the ones to turn our wrath upon NOT the ‘peoples’ as a whole.
They will not win, we will not bow down to them, we will hunt them down and bring them to justice, WHATEVER it takes!!
My thoughts are with you all back in the UK, and thank you to all of you in the US and the rest of the World who support us.
Karl, Mississippi must seem like a very long way from the UK this morning. I’m sorry this has happened there and I would hope that it wouldn’t happen anywhere.
It looks like that is not to be.

My sympathies are with the Londoners this morning after learning of this latest cowardly attack against civilized society. Although this is not the forum for this, those responsible need to be hunted down and “neutralized”. We will not let them win!
Now is the time to offer condolenses and support and not spout politics.
It’s obvious terrorist will have to learn the hard way. The US will NEVER give the mouse it’s cookie. (It’s a story book reference…give a mouse a cookie and he will want a glass of milk. Give him milk and he will be sleepy and want a bed. Give him a bed, and he will wake up hungry and want a cookie…)
All my best wishes to those in the UK. If you need anything, just ask.
To those suffering loss and horror in England:
Our prayers are with you and we mourn with you as well. May the God of all grace give you stength in your time of need.

My prayers and condolences to the victims, their grieveing families and friends. A horrid act by cowards that are misled by leaders that twist the “Koran” like a pretzel to peddle their hate-promoting philosophy to fresh, young Islamic minds.
Hopefully more people will realize that these terrorists don’t want peace. Unfortunately, we are too complacent. Forgive me for sounding “doom and gloom”, but these cowards are aiming for U.S soils as well. Yet, our borders are still open floodgates and American born youths continue to burn flags and feel sympathy for terrorists.
Yes, our prayers are with the UK, the wounded, and the families of the victums.
Unfortunately, appeasement or negotiation doesn’t work with terrorists. The only thing they seem to understand is the use of force. We can learn from a situation with the first terrorists the US dealt with way back in the 1790s and early 1800s: http://theroadtoemmaus.org/RdLb/33Rlg/Islm/Islm%20USA02.htm .
Like Thomas Jefferson saw back in the early days of the US, use of military force to retaliate is the only thing that these cowards will respect. To do anything else lets them win and contintue to ravage innocent people with impunity.
somebody wasn’t paying attention in history class . bombing london has never gotten anyone anything that they wanted . ask hitler , ask the ira . it just gets the brits pissed off , and although britain is no longer the great colonial power of the past this is gonna give tony blair the green light to do whatever he wants to strike back at whoever is responsible for todays attacks .
My prayers are with everyone in the UK this sad morning–with the fine people that I’ve met on this forum, and the friends and families of the victims of this heinous tragedy. For the life of me, I’ve never understood how the killing and maiming of innocent victims constitutes a ‘political’ statement. Right now a very dear friend of mine and her sister are touring the British Isles, and I’m anxiously awaiting news of their safety. May God be with them and all who are suffering.

Yes, lets pray for all the victims. I just can’t understand why, lots of innocent people dies. Terrorists will NEVER win!
This remainds me on a thing that happened in my city not long ago. A very old lady was robbed and killed. A couple of weeks later the city was invaded with Nazi people that used the situation to their advantage, blaming innocent people. And the Swedish cops did nothing at all. And that happened in my little city, only 10000 people lives here. I just can’t believe it. But I know one thing for sure. I will never let terrorists, nazi’s and other pigs win.
Although I’ve already sent more personal notes to our friends in Bishops Waltham and Sholing, I do want to add my condolences here to all those in the UK. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

It is a sad day for any free country when innocent civilians are killed to make some sort of statement by radical extremists. What these knuckle heads don’t understand is every time they do something like this we come back many times stronger and kick their butts even harder. My condolences to a great country and its people.

Karl, i remember the Warrington bombings Very well indeed, it scarred the … out of me, Today my neighbour was there near one of the explosions working, he just flew home very shaken but OK, it brings back memories of September 11th, when my wifes relatives were up the WTC a couple of days before the attack, the holiday pictures should have been happy memories but the sad thing was almost everyone (staff) in the pictures taken at the top would have certainly perished.
