1981: Cincinnati Union Terminal Company dissolved.
1988: After much delay, C&NW sale of 208 miles to Fox River Valley complete. ( Is FRV still there, or did CN eat them up?)
Anybody else?

1852- PRR tracks reach the Ohio River at Pittsburgh
FRV was bought by WC around the time they bought the GBW and they both became WC’s Fox Valley & Western subsidiary. Then CN sat down to the table and ate everything on it!
…The data on Pennsylvania RR reaching the Ohio River is interesting…The route up over the Allegheny mts. around Horseshoe Curve was not complete that date yet so It must not have been continous from Philadelphia yet…or I wonder if the traffic at that time was using the Portage RR up over that mountain…{Stationary steam engines pulling carrigiages up the incline plane tracks to get over the mtns. Horseshoe Curve route was opened in 1854.
Well, at the time I found that piece of info, I didn’t think that the next line was very important, but I guess it is…
“DECEMBER 10 1858 Pennsylvania Railroad connects Philadelphia and Pittsburgh”
…How about that…Pretty neat.
