Today I Rode The Yankee Clipper out of White River Jnt. (X-Country Sking and Snowmoblng rare milage!)

Today I cross country skied from White River Jnt Vermont To Enfield NH. On The railroad road bed of The B&M through Lebonon. (Ok i cheated I got a ride from a snowmobile for a few miles).

The Yankee Clipper provided high speed train service on this line in the 1930s…Now Snowmobles travel the route at 80 mph while dodgeing joggers and Cross-Country Skiers!..I Noticed that the right of way was built on a high fill for a good part of the way…I cant imagine Irish Laborors Digging and Filling the right of way by hand! Any Idea how long did it take to build this route…

You must be referring to the Flying Yankee because the Yankee Clipper never ran on the Boston & Maine. It ran on the New Haven between New York (Grand Central Terminal) and Boston. The Cheshire (the Flying Yanke trainset) did run between White River Jct and Boston, but it ran down the Connecticut River Line to Bellows Falls, and then east to Boston.

OK Ok… Flying Yankee!!..While on Amtrak friom Bellows Falls (Fellows Balls?) to Amherst I nticed many snowmobile trails and abondoned railroad grades…What part is CV amd What Part is BM?
