My birthday !!! And I am getting ready to go home and enjoy my birthday and fathers day week end [8D] Several weeks ago my wife brought home a bag from the local hobby shop and told me get this not to look inside [:-^] well when her back was turned for a few minutes I peaked (quickly ) inside and I saw some kits [swg] yeaaaa . I didnt get to see everthing but I cant wait to get home and recieve my gifts : ) . My daughter (she is six ) with Moms help called and wished me happy birthday[bday] and she let slip that they were going to the “train store today” This is going to be a good birthday ! I have fond memories of one particular birthday. The young lady in my life at the time gave me a kit for my birthday - a ‘foobie’ kit of a Japanese-prototype locomotive. It built up into a nice little piece of motive power, and shifted this NYC fan away from US prototype modeling forever.
A little less than six months later, we were married.
Both locomotive and marriage are still going strong. Our next anniversary will be our 49th.

My birthday was on Tuesday and my wife made the trip to Altoona and Horseshoe Curve with me for my birthday present. It was an excellent trip with lots of train watching and discussions with fellow model railroaders. We stopped by Juniata and that place is very impressive. Locomotives with horses as far as the eye can see.
When I got back the hobby shop called and said my 24 BLMA TopGons were in. It’s been so long since various folks have been promising Norfolk Southern TopGons, I almost didn’t believe him. Now I have them in my hands, so they are real. All in all a pretty special birthday for me this year.

Chuck you are a lucky man ! To all of the other well wishers THANK YOU ! I have had one of the best week ends in months : ) Of course it started off with the phone call from my daughter wishing me happy birthday on Friday , my son sent in a gift and a very funny card from Texas , My wife made my favotite pie , apple pie , [tup] and of course there were the presents from her and the girls , a farm house kit , several packages of people and the present that blew me away is she bought me an engine . The Bachmann Spectrum J model ! This is unbelievable because when we started building our hobby room and she saw all of the engines I already had she , at that time told me I need HELP ! And fathers day was grand , more cards , a shirt and lots of hugs and kisses from my two little angles and my princess bride. [:)] What a great week end , I am a lucky man too
