Todays DIY's Working On The Railroad 09/26/06

I woke up a little late and missed most of the starting layout, which made me mad cause I wanted to see this layout. I did catch the rest of the show.

They touched the basics on lighting and various versions with Micro Engineering signsm etc showed some animation with Walthers oil pump, and some how made motorization ideas. It was alright but for us guys learning how to do this stuff they really need to get more into “how it was done”.

They also slightly touched sound which was good showed to use a simple box as a enclosure and why and talked about a chip company.

But I am curious if anyone has recorded this and has broadband if you could send it to me cause I really want to see what else there is on this layout for automation.

Thanks.

I forgot to set the VCR (what’s a VCR!?[:P]) to record this morning. I wish they never changed it to the morning. I was angry that I forgot and even more so now that I remembered what was suppose to be on this one. If anyone does record the show PLEASE send it this way as well, and every week after that [:D].

This episode was great.

The animated layout was done quite well. It was not toy like. Other than the tornado, the animation brought a greater sense of reality to a well done layout. (The tornado looked like a tornado, but it really needed to be coming down from a cloud and not just top out in clear blue sky.)

The workshop sessions were nicer this time. Along with the usual showning of a few things you can by ready-built, it showed some custom buildings with custom animation. While not a step-by-step, it at least gave the viewer an idea of how to animate things.
