toggle switches

Hi

bought some toggle switches from McMasterCarr. DPDT with QuickConnect terminals. they come loose in a bag, no wiring instructions … nada… are all toggle switches the same for wiring purposes? is there a site that would have the info on which wire goes to which terminal.

planning on using it to control the atlas turntable

thanks

ralph

The center terminal is the input, and the outside terminals are controlled by the switches.

I assume that you’re using the toggle switch to control the turntable direction and installing it between the rectifier and the turntable motor. There should be 6 terminals on the bottom of a DPDT toggle switch:

1 2 3
4 5 6

For this purpose, connect 1 and 6 together and to one of the motor terminals. Connect 3 and 4 together and to the other motor terminal. Connect 2 and 5 each to each of the two rectifier output terminals.
