Armed with the latest underwater technology, driven by boundless curiosity and steeled with courage, the DEEP SEA DETECTIVES travel the globe to visit long-lost shipwrecks and other enticing treasures of the deep. With their incredible expertise and experience, John Chatterton and the other Detectives bring tales to the surface that have been submerged for generations.

Railroad car ferries were once thought to be some of the safest vessels on the Great Lakes, built to withstand ice and waves year round. But on October 22nd, 1929, the SS Milwaukee sailed into a Force-9 Gale and disappeared. Was it foolishness on the part of the ship’s captain, Robert “Heavy Weather” McKay? Or was he ordered to sail by the railroad company? Was there a design flaw with the ship itself? Or was there a conspiracy to cover up unsafe business practices? John and Richie brave the dark waters of Lake Michigan to search for evidence about the accident. Using cutting-edge technology, fascinating underwater footage, and expert interviews, they compare the official post-accident investigation with the wreck itself.

I know that sign, you must be a fellow Bostonian…Looks like Fenway to me.

It was a pretty good show. They could have done a better job with underscoring the unique aspects of the trains, but it was still worth watching.

I guess it was the trains that took that sucker down
and now there working on me!!
