for $35.00. Can someone tell me anything on what I purchased, possible pricing?
you want the “Classic TOY Trains” forum, this one is for REAL, FULL SIZE, Classic trains.
Thanks for the tip!
You’re Welcome, it’s a VERY common mistake. Good Luck and enjoy your new treasure.

I always wish Kalmbach had picked up the “Vintage Rails” magazine title when Pentrex quit publishing it (IIRC subscribers to VR had their subscription transferred over to Classic Trains). Would avoid this continual confusion with Classic Toy Trains.

wj,
How many times has someone suggested this same thing or asked for some kind of change? One wonders if Kalmbach actually cares?
True, I suspect it’s too late now however - enough people read Classic Trains and they would be afraid of losing some casual (non-subscriber) readers who buy at the LHS or magazine store. Still, would be nice if they had figured out at the time that the name was too close to their already-in-existence Classic Toy Trains.
On an unrelated sidenote: You’d think a name wouldn’t matter that much, but it’s funny how much it can. In the fifties one of the U.S.'s top orchestras was the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, in the sixties when they changed their name to the Minnesota Symphony Orchestra their status dropped, they quit being invited to international music festivals, their recordings suffered etc. Not sure even now they’re quite back to where they had been. People had a hard time accepting this was the same musicians under a different name.
