2816

Now that 2860 is back, whatever happened to 2816?

I think the question is too vague for anyone to answer.

2816 is owned by Canadian Pacific Railway, 2860 belongs to the West Coast Railway Association. Both are operational.

For those who are wondering, 2816 is a CPR non-streamlined 4-6-4 Hudson that CPR uses for excursions and various PR events, she is based out of Calgary, AB. 2860 is the ex-CPR streamstyled 4-6-4 Royal Hudson that BC Rail used for excursions for years. The WCRA either leased it or bought it from the government and has spent a lot of time bringing it back to operating condition. WCRA’s collection, including the 2860 are located in Squamish, BC. 2860 will be making a run to White Rock this weekend to celebrate White Rock’s 50th Birthday, its first run since BC Rail pulled it from service in 2001.

Right, they are completely independant of each other - But I’d really like to seem them doublehead someday!

On a similar note, does anyone have information on upcoming Empress runs? It’s getting about that time of year…
