I’m finding that I’m going to need around 15 or more switch machines for my layout. I saw a few posts a while back in regard to discounted prices on Tortoise machines, anyone got updated prices on sales around? E-bay unfortunately only has a few and I’d rather buy them all at once to save on shipping. I flip/flopped with using Atlas Deluxe switches but I’m afraid of the amp draw at the flip of the switch as compared to the Tortoise, especially for as many as I have and multiple switching that I may do at one time. Any ideas? I guess I’m afraid to go the cheaper route with Atlas and regret it later, need some convincing either way. Boy this stuff is getting really expensive but worth every penny of it!!! Nothing says you can’t go the cheaper route and add tortoises a few at a time. You could always try to sell the atlas’ on ebay or something.
Try trainworld.com. I think they have tortoises listed at $139 for a 12 pack. That’s less 12.00 a piece.
