Tower 55

I wouldn’t mind seeing a BN C415.

A Centennial would be pretty cool to see[8D][8D]

I’d like to see the wide-cab units (formerly GP40’s? Don’t know the ‘official’ model#) used on the MARC commuter trains over former B&O trackage.

An FP45, an SD60I and an SD80MAC get my votes!

I’m an alcofile so the c415 would be nice. unless of coarse they put some traction out a nice BW steeple cab would be nice.[:D]

I’ll be brutally honest here, BLI had the perfect opportunity to sweep the market with their SD-40-2. Without being critical of their model, I think OMI can do better. As popular as the locomotive is both with the railroads and the railfans alike, Tower 55 could make a bundle with well detailed prototypical models. OMI already invested in the tooling for their brass SD-40’s, so my guess is that they’ve already got the hard part out of the way.

I’m honestly not sure if I want to see Tower55 do something like an SD40-2. It seems pretty unanimous that T55 products are going to be very high end, with matching price tags.

I’d prefer someone who will produce the SD40-2 at a price point that many can buy the multiple engines that they want and need.

Since they seem to be into the new stuff… how about a Green Goat instead?

I would love to see a Warbonnet U30CG in plastic, but I don’t think there would be market to justify it. It may not be the most beautiful loco, but it is an interesting piece of passenger locomotive history.

Jeff, I’ll agree that building a fleet of the SD-40’s would certainly take its toll on our wallets. But I do absolutely love the idea of a Green Goat - - that would be one cool model!

C&O H-7
C&O Greenbriar
C&O 0-10-0

I say, a Missabe M-4 2-8-8-4. Which doesn’t seem likely from them. I just want someone to make a decent one.

[:I]Uh…What’s a “green goat?”[D)][:I]

Green Goat - Railpower, Inc hybrid 2000hp equivalent switcher, generally based on an early (GP7/9) frame, filled with batteries and a low HP/emissions Cat diesel to keep them charged. Switchers spend a lot of time standing still doing nothing…

RPRX 2401 is representative of the production models.

RPRX 001 is the Green Kid - call it a hybrid SW1000.

A correct Alco C-430 would be a good thing.

Thanks Jeff! I think I’ll “pass” on that one though - looks too much like a slug with a cab![(-D][(-D]

It would be nice to see some Amtrak Surfliner cars[:D]. They already have the mold… They could also make the California Cars.

Why would they do an F40? I mean, right after Kato released it…
A prototypically correct Canadian style SD40-2 would be nice, or maybe just one with different versions. I hate trying to detail them myself, as I am not good at all. Practice makes perfect, but if that practice is on $170 Katos, I’d rather not do it.

Seems to me that models such as an SD-40-2 or something like that were very common in many different railways would be best for business.

That way they can be manufactured in many more paint schemes, still be (near) prototype and would likely interest people who were looking to buy undecorated or buy and strip for their own smaller lines.

But that’s just me.

[#ditto][#ditto]. ATSF Bicentennials would be my second choice.

Take care,

Russell

Sorry Guys,I can’t get excited about Tower55…After we have several proved manufacturers that makes quality models,Atlas,Athearn,Kato,Stewart and other like companies…IMHO we have enough manufacturers to produce the models we need with out the manufacturers tripping over their selves producing the same models…Of course we need more F7s…[}:)]
