I have need for the track parts listing for an O gauge layout that appeared in a supplement with Classic Toy Trains Magazine. The supplement was entitled “5 Track Plans for Toy Trains” and on page 10 is a ‘Two sheet layout’ that is modified using a pair of 4 by 8 foot sheets of plywood with the left side mounted 22.5 degrees outward from the right hand sheet resulting in a modified ‘L’ shape. The Postwar Lionel accessories are listed however, no track parts. Can anyone advise me on where I could obtain track parts information on this modified layout?
I would think you could use trial and error to determine what track pieces would be necessary to make the layout. You could temporarily outline the layout dimensions on the floor and then arrange pieces of track according to the track plan to determine what is needed.
Robert, thanks for the reply. I had come to the conclusion that your suggestion was the best possible way to begin my layout. The main reason I wanted a listing to begin with was so I could order the exact sections of track on line and save some money versus from a local train hobby shop. What I will do now is purchase a few one of a kind track sections (curves and straight) and expand the outline on the floor to determine the exact sections I need. I’m planning on using Atlas O Gauge because I’m told that it is superior to the new Lionel Fastrack. Any comments?
