The Layout Design sig has a site here http://www.ldsig.org/ with info on joining and their layout design primer.

I knew they had a site somewhere, but the only thing I have bookmarked is the primer page, which is (or was) a different site. Maybe my old bookmark is no longer valid.

I can strongly recommend the Layout Design SIG. If you chose to join and receive the magazine, it will best hobby investment of $15 you’ll ever make.

But lots of info is free as pointed out above.
