After years spent as an arm chair modeler (I mostly read and look online for information, go to shows and build the occasional structure), I’ve reached the stage where I’ve got a little bit of space and time to plan and begin building a small layout.
Would anyone be able to recommend a good software package for designing a small, original layout. The main requirements are for the software to be compatible with MAC OSX and for the cost to be reasonable. I don’t need to design an empire or run virtual railroads, just a design small layout and generate enough information to take to the lumber yard and my local hobby shop.
