Track plans for 1' x 8' shelf

Hi…Would appreciate anyone who has any info where I might find some track plans for a shelf layout this size in HO scale…Thanks

You might try the Yahoo group “Small Layout Design”.

Carl Arendt’s website is also a good place to look for ideas: http://carendt.com/

Thanks so much Robert…Great site…Enjoy your day

Do a Google search for “timesavers”. They are small switching puzzle layouts. Lots of plans for them on the web.

I do hope you’re thinking of doing this in N-Scale. You can have a nice switching layout in this amount of space. Small engines like the Kato NW-2’s or the Atlas MP-15’s and short cars will make the layout look larger than what it is.

My N-Scale layout is 18" wide by 6’ long with short girder bridges on each end for staging tracks. I have over 50 cars on this little layout with 5 industries that keep my busy for well over an hour just moving cars around. I use a car-card system to route the cars to the various industries.

Have fun,

The book 101 Track Plans by Linn Westcott has some plans that will fit your space.

There are far better switching layouts then the Time Saver switching puzzle.

Here’s a link for your consideration.
