Track plans

I am looking at ripping out the old layout, which is an L shape. I am going to
do something that basically goes around an open center with the track aound the middle open area. I most likely will stay with the L shape but that is still in deciding stage.

Can anyone refer me to a plan book or source that meets this criteria with wiring diagrams for DC included? My available layout space is 20’ x 20’. Thanks, J1

My Layout is just about what your descibing. And it works wounderful What scale and what industry are you going to be using?

Carl…

20x20 is what some would call and Ideal space. Not too big but not too small. Use it wisely. The best recommendation I have for track plan books is Mid-size and Manageable Track Plans by Iain Rice. Avoid 101 Track Plans like the plague

Thanks guys.
Carl, I model HO scale. Planning lumber/grain and rural scenes.

You can do alot with that! to be honest i would free lance the track to what you want with ,for what your doing ,plan where you goping to have something ,and think of seenery around it Thats what o would do ,if it helps ,do you have any ideas on where your going to put stuff?

Carl…

I am just beginning to diagram where I want stuff. Do you have any pics of your layout? I will probably email you as well so check your mail.

ya sure let me put one up for you.

If this helps here is what ive got going with my new section sorry its messy

I hope this might be of help ,its a free lanced track plan

ho scale Carl…

Thanks, Carl. I really do appreciate that.

Is that the idea you looking for ? Hope that helps

Carl…

Yes, it is. Thanks.

I’d have to disagree. My layout is from 101 track plans, no 48, with a couple modifications (New yard, helix at west end of virginia) and some good scenery, it looks and operates great. Come over sometime, and I’ll show you how great…[}:)]
