Track Question

Lets say i want to use MRC Flextrack for design flecibility for some areas and Unitrack for others areas to cut down on the roadbet/ballasting work. Is this done often? Can it be done easily? if so, how? Thanks for your help in answering these “easy” questions.

gbuczynski,

Go for it!. The two are compatible but have different functions and capabilities. The Unitrack has fixed lengths and radii, and is therefore more restrictive in what you can accomplish. If it fits what you want to do, “Its your railroad.”. The flextrack is very versatile, but needs to be cut and anchored where you want it to go. It will need to be detailed (ballasted) if that is what you want. Again, if it serves your purpose, go for it.

It’s a little easier if you can stay with one size. ie: code 100 or 83, but you can mix the two kinds.
