hi guys iam having some trouble wiring my track need help[:)] why do i need plastic rail joiners could i not just run feeders from my selectors where does the track get power from for the other side of the track the switches???trying to run 2 loc at same time. thanks for the help g.howard

A pretty confusing question indeed from someone who seems just as confused.Electrical wiring is not that hard to do but you have to have a method and stick to it.Proceed step by step and check as you go.Complete step A then go to step B without jumping to step D without completing step C.Most important is understanding what you are doing and going “slowly but sure” is the ONLY way,checking every step.You will find that your working speed increases significantly after you get the hang of it.
I suggest you buy the Atlas Wiring book (no 12) which you’ll probably find at your local hobby store.It will help you get started as it explains most model railroad wiring situations.It will tell you how to manage “block control” wiring for DC operation.Not only will you wire your layout,you will understand it which is a necessity when troubleshooting is needed,and believe me,this will happen…some day.
