Well after much frustration with my track I had decided to replace it all with a different code. Well after discussing it with the CFO (wife) of my railroad I was denied my request. Well after ripping out a few sections here and there and replacing the track I now have a smoother running mainline. Also a few suggestions from “TEFFY” helped me solve derailment issues I was having. My FEF-3’s are running just fine now. My 3 year old stood in his grand stand and watched the two locomotives work their way around the layout as he exclaimed excited shouts and big smiles. My CFO also showed praise for my dedication to the railroad and the hard work I put in. I also scrutinized some yard work and have also removed it as it wasn’t satisfactory. I might have to purchase some more track but the boss was agreeable to that than dumping everything and starting over.

I just did the same tonight myself. On my shelf layout the mains are supported on 6" strips of plywood. Where the pieces of ply join was starting to sag and uncoupling things. The longest engines were even scraping the rails[B)]. But, anyway, a couple hours and a few boards later they were all braced and on the level. I need to fix a few gaps but im almost ready for yard laying. Anyway, I digress. Good job with your track sean.
Glad to hear someone’s is running nicely[:D]. I need to do some of that I think. I am running flex track uphill around a curve and it isn’t perfect enough for my steamer. Does someone make 22 inch and 20 inch radius rigid track? Or is that even a good idea?

sure, 22 inch rigid is available. But you will get better running results if you just put in the effort to fix the flex track. If you really feel you need rigid track im sure atlas or some other manufacturer makes it.
