Track work planned on MBTA Haverhill Line
The photo in the article was taken at Ayer, MA, which is not on the Haverhill commuter rail line.
No word as to if the Downeaster will be affecteed. I’ll stick to the bus for awhile longer. Much more reliable as of late. Can’t remember the last itme I was able to ride the Downeaster.
I rode the Downeaster between Boston North Station and Haverhill (pronounced HAY ver ill) on Saturday April 18th, and returned on MBTA Commuter Rail via Reading. There is already some trackwork underway in the Haverhill area; only the ‘northbound’ [eastbound?] station platform is in use.
The announcement on the Downeaster was that it would be delayed north (east?) of Saco, between Saco and Portland. The delay would be ~ 40 minutes.
