I hope your spring is going well, today here in Portland it hit 85 degrees!!! So summer can’t be far behind, I have a question about Nscale track measurements, I"m rebuilding a section of my layout that needed it badly, I want to add a dbl mainline with a siding, ( 3 tracks) , I will be using woodland scenic risers for my base, now what is the measurements between tracks, and would this work!
This NMRA standard shows how track-center-to-track-center spacing must vary depending on curve radius and equipment type. That’s still a good place to start.
The added complication of the WS risers makes this a little trickier. I believe that the risers are only made 2 1/2” wide, so three N scale tracks plus adequate spacing outside the tracks may be too wide for a single riser. This is because the track-center-to-track-center spacing must be wider for sharper curves to avoid side-swiping. In that case, you may need to slice some thinner pieces from the stock risers to place alongside the main riser. Or instead cut your roadbed from a sheet of foam to the necessary width.
