Trackplan that grows (CTT plan)

The rationale is good. It’s better not to bite off more than you can chew. You can, after all get hobby fatigue.

Dec05 CTT trackplan initially looks good in phase 1. However by phases 2 and 3 it resembles a bowl of spaghetti.

Not that there’s anything wrong with spagetti. I’d just be concerned about lack of space for accessories and scenery but more importantly, there’s no room for an access hatch.

A 9X12 layout is a fairly big reach.

Nice concept but poorly executed.

Hi
I built 3 times a layout.
and always use the same criterion:
-Define layout reason
so the reason is that do you are waiting from your layout.
I am waiting for fun and for me is not only run my trains is grow, like a real evolution. star with a small town anf factory and little bit increase with more ideas, vias, implements, and tecnology. For me is very boring go and buy ready everything, like plug and play. I like think, make modification, etc.
My last layout was modificated 4 times is a lot of fun start to filt the track clean the ballast, cut electrical cables, stop your trains for a few weeks, etc.
Andre.

i thik it is a great layout. I would definetley use this for a basement layout. I would put a hatch inside so i could have access.
