Very nice memorial to Paul Scoles, one of the greats of Model Railroading. Could this video be made available for download or purchase?
This was a very nice memorial to Paul Scoles and a great model railroad. It’s a shame Allen Keller has retired. There are so many great model railroads that may never make it to video. It is great to watch videos of models railroads on MR Video Plus, but it’s also nice to be able to kick back in the easy chair and watch a Great Model Railroad DVD on the TV. Not sure if more footage is available of Paul’s layout, but this layout and David’s Naugatuck Valley would both be good candidates for a Great Model Railroad DVD’s.
Fantastic modeler! I have both his CD’s and book, and even though i am a N scale modeler I have been able to use all of his techniques on my layout. I did not know that he passed.
God bless him for whet he gave to the model railroad industry.
Beautiful. I never met Mr. Scoles, but I have admired his work for years. This is a nice tribute.
Once again, the Staff has found a spectacular layout to show and demonstrate the wonders of this hobby! This visit is now among my “favourites” and I will view it many times as a continue building my new layout. I was sorry to see the dedication. The hobby has lost a one of it’s greats. However, my mining area has a name, finally, because of it: Camp Scoles. Thank you, Paul, for your service to our Nation.
I agree with Randy in thanking Mr Scoles for his Service, and would like to add a thanks for his service and contribution to the hobby as well. Camp Scoles - great idea Randy.
Very nice tribute to a great model railroader. I was exchanging emails with him a week before he died and he seemed just fine. When I didn’t’ hear back for a while I emailed him and his wife told me the sad story. That war injury was still a problem and he’d gone in to have it worked on again and that’s when he died. Good man and great artist. I have all his books and videos and use them like a bible.
