O Winston Link’s “Steam, Steel and Stars” was the first railroad photography book I bought. Many of these classic works from that book were on display years ago at Stanford University. It was worth the hour or so drive from the east bay to Palo Alto, CA to see these same photos as enlargements on the wall. If I’m ever near Roanoke I would gladly see these photographs again. Link will always remain as one of my favorite all-time favorite rail photographers!!!
