Railroad workers unload a boxcar at Caldwell Junction:

Beautifully done - I truly appreciate the weeds in the road.

Thank You Bob…without saying a word you have been teaching me detail, a vine on a house, a board laying against a building and a hundred other details that really tell a story, with other story hints in the background. Fantastic composure and I hope you never tire of sharing your craftmanship with us…John

Bob,

Better get them to trim back some of those trees down the far side of the road. They are growing through the phone lines They are really cool weeds growing up through the cracks.

Thanks for the pics. I am a great fan.

Another winner, Bob. It’s hard to say which is my favorite part of the scene, it’s all so good. Is this a Durhams water putty paved street? It’ looks great!

Hey Bob, another great shot. You must have to be very careful not to destroy scenery when getting the angles of some of these shots. BTW, what are those streetlights you’re using? They look familiar.

Bob,

You did it again!

You keep the fire burning in my desire to spend more time on my layout. Still light years away from catching up with you though!

Cheers,

Ryan

Bob,
another shot of some amazing work! keep them coming!

gives me a standard to work up to… but like Silver Spike said… I’m still light years away from catching up

Phil:

The streetlights are modified Campbell’s lights. I trim the bottoms of the poles to eliminate the oversized base. I then paint the plastic parts with flat black, and follow-up with a flat white (dry-brush) to provide highlights.

Bob, was this shot outside under natural light or is this your new light rig inside? The light is so natural, in particular the shadows and the warm light on the background trees. Really great as usual! Thanks

I have to agree with simon 1966, the lighting looks natural, and to me actually looks like it’s real, not a diorama for a model railroad.
Bob, your talent is awesome!
Great work, and thanks for your ongoing inspirational pictures!

Another great scene Bob! Reminds me of my summer job as a teen unloading lumber from boxcars. But looks like these guys have plenty of help. Terry

WOW as a newbie i hope one day i will be able to master the art of detailing like you, wonderful job truly amazing
