In conjunction w/ weekend photo fun, I give you TRACKSIDE PHOTOS. Here, post either real train photos or model train photos. maybe a project you’ve completed in the week, or a new loco that you just HAVE to show us. I’d prefer if we could keep this on track, so please don’t get sidetracked off of the primary goal, just talk about the photos or post some please. I’ll start w/ an old one of my layout, before I added the extension.
Before this thing gets out of hand let’s do an analysis of this title; Packers #1 the exact reason why you reasoned that this would be a good title is the exact reason why it is a bad title. The forum moderators are not likely to squash this title but it could become just a little confusing for someone who views it and perceives that it is referring to the Trackside Photos feature from the magazine. We need to come up with something a little more unique.
In that case, why not just re-title it “Your Trackside Photos”?
Here’s my contribution: I call it “Embarrassing Road Failure” or “External Combustion Rescues Internal Combustion”

OK, sure thing. Could someone give me an idea for a better title, I got nothing.
Anyways, this will soon be my avatar on here:
Also added a boxcar over at the Aiken Locomotive Works. Really, I only weathered that side even remotely well and the thing would not roll well at all.
Packer#1-Your pics are looking better the last couple weeks.
Here’s an old one.
Thanks loathar. I’ve gotten my desklamp fixed up, so now I’ve got a source of light, and I took these photos in the daylight, and the one window in my room is a skylight, so I guess I just got lucky w/ that, lol. I’ve also been playing around w/ the white balance, and today I tried changing the exposure time or shutter time or whatever, and the white balance. I guess I’m just getting better, lol. Do you have any more pics of your layout, I’ve been wondering what it looks like?
Just testing. Peter Smith, Memphis
It appears that under the new format you cannot preview before you post. Previewing was one of my favorite features. Peter smith, Memphis
When you click ‘REPLY’ look at the top of the yellow area where the previous reply is quoted. You’ll see three tabs. The last tab says ‘PREVIEW’.
Packer#1-Check your PM. I sent you a link to my Photobucket page.
Well, since there is an option for favorite locomotives, I’ll bite. This is my current favorite, which is NOT a Yellowstone–but of course it’s an Articulated. It’s a PFM Rio Grande L-131 I picked up from Caboose Hobbies consignment in Denver last year. I think it dates from about 1965 or so (the box says it’s a non-existant L-125) so it’s an older run. But it’s a sweet runner, and can pull the paint off of the walls.
Dang, these photos sure turn out BIG! [:O]
Tom [:)]
Nice Rio Grande Tom.
WM 2-8-0 hauling Coal exits NoName Tunnel (still trying to name sections of the layout [swg] )
Thanks loathar. Hey tom, nice articulate
My favorite loco is either the GP30 or the GP9.
Packer#1, the thread is a good idea no matter what it is called.
Here is an old photo from my website.
A switcher, freight and passenger train on the BRVRR layout.
Very nice.
Thanks Jeffery. Fat fingers. Its working now.
Love those NYC cab units Allan! Nice layout as well.
Well this is one of my most advertised photos I have. [:P] But I might as well post it here. I’ll probably do another winter scene one the snow starts falling up here Wisconsin.
Here is another photo that I tried to make look like an old slide that some one took in black and white. Sadly the caboose is out of focus.
