Thank you,

As usual a rather vague and open for interpretation theme…and so all submissions are well done and well qualified. I chose Robert Jorden’s shot of the train next to the carnival or fair because it reminds me of a night on one of our Ridewithmehenry trips upon arriving at Suffern,NY. Upon detraining there were the sounds of loud explosions and the young lady conductor instantly ordered us all back on the train until she could figure out what was happening. It just so happened that it was an Italian Festival of some kind and they were setting off fireworks in the baseball field not far from the tracks! She did right and should be commended…

When the subject was announced I had trouble figuring out how best to interpret it in pictures, and more or less failed. The images presented are valiant attempts with an exceedingly difficult theme, and the photographers should all be commended. But none triggered that feeling that “HE NAILED IT”. So, no vote this time.

I did consider submitting a couple of mine showing fellow photographers clowning around while waiting for a train but decided the guilty should be shielded from the glare of publicity.

Went with Robert Jordan’s shot; of them all it best fit the theme, and was a really good photo on its own.

I submitted a shot of kits playing in the sand at Deshler with a train passing in the background. It didn’t get picked…
