This is the most difficult series of shots that I have ever voted on. Inoccuous enough - I mean it’s just ‘diesels’ - the subject is handled expertly enough to be appealing by each artist. NS over the Maumee(where I always expect CXS) is breathtaking both for the stark contrast of the black locos against the white snow, and the expectation of a sharp inhalation of frigid air. The colorful consist powering under the signal bridge also grabs the eye. I model the late Winter/early Spring so I was captivated by the lash-up returning to the service yard - I actually counted 8 – count 'em, 8 – total loco’s in this fine shot. But, being a sucker for reflections, I threw my hat in for the string on the bridge, though the color was a bit over-saturated. Great job by all four photog’s.
