Train Box photos [lots of them]

Second attempt to post. Suddenly lost all 17 photos. [:(!]

Not much done since I moved all the train “stuff” over from the old layout. When I do get time, I just “play trains”.

Wifey wanted me to post outside of Train Box to show here landscape work.

All looks great chief

Very, very, VERY impressive! I’ve got a “Chugger Barn” of my own in the back yard, not as impressive as yours, only 10X14, but I enjoy it just the same.

I see you’re an NRA “Benefactor”. I’m an NRA Life Member myself. I wonder how many other firearms enthusiasts out there are into toy trains as well?

Super cool Chief, Thanks for posting. Where is the tunnel??? [(-D] [(-D] [;)] I love it. [:)]

Chief, here is the finished tunnel liner. I will will paint the inside flat black and it will be ready to be put on the table. [;)] I don’t have a clue what I am doing but , soooo what. [swg]

VERY nice, Chief. I like the way you built the layout. So you could reach all areas. The outside looks great.

Chuck

Chuck,

Next winter we need to perfect our aim of the snow cannon. We can use the “box” as our target.[(-D]

Very nice set up Chief…looks like a great place to get away and relax (after the building is done…)[bow]

Well done Chief!

Nice job Frank, a very nice start. Looks like the boss is in charge of making the box look good from the outside, nice to have that support and encouragement.

Thanks guys. Here are some night time ones with up lights and area light in back. To keep the Jones Boys away [security system too].

You see the flag is spotlighted. Lots of folks do not follow the rule. If flown at night, spotlighted.

With flash off to show up lights.

That’s great Chief - you sure have done a lot of work on the box! The inside will take time, but that’s a whole different part of the fun [tup]

Chief the layout looks good. Now you just need to find time to play.

Chief

Looks good. Lot of good time investment there.

Is that realtrax you are using, btw?

You need to get a Reb artillery crew to go w/ the missle, lighting the fuse and stuff…[:P]

Very nice and people thought I had plenty of room. I like the bridge at the door. You’ll have to get a vid of that in action when you’re done.

Cheif, what is that? the back half a doublewide, and just closed in the rear wall? Just doesnt look built in place.

just wondering

Ryan

Half of a double wide that had been converted into a single wide beach house. Bought it cheap, removed the inner walls except utility room which is work room and train storage.

Magnificent! There is so much to compliment! I love the bridge by the door - the crane that will probably end up working the yard - the landscaping outside looks great. If you spotlight the flag, then you can fly it all the time!

So glad the beaver made it to this layout. [Y]

Will you build up a mountain in that corner? Is that the plan?

Chief, pretty slick idea… how big is it? what kind of costs / head aches were involved in moving it?

Ryan

14X40. $1,000 jack up, move and set back up. 20 miles. Grady, neighbor, owed me money so he did ceiling removal and we all removed walls. Had plaster ceiling over tongue and grove 1X4’s. After plaster removal, crown stapled thin plywood to 1X4’s and painted. Put the best tongue and grove subflooring Lowe’s had over subfloor. Got special sale on foam snap-together foam shop matts for walkways [Harbor Freight]. Painted walls. Use the electric stove circuit for 240V to under main part of layout. Breaker box under there. Split. One side all transformers [4 ZW’s], TIU and Legacy/TMCC. Other side outlets and etc. Throw on breaker, all come on. Throw breaker, all dead. Red “pilot” light next to sliding door to insure I turn off breaker before leaving.

OH, cost of the Box was $1,500. Got washer and dryer [sold]. Side by side frig with ice in the door [took to lake house kitchen]. Microwave [in workroom in Box]. Took full fiberglass shower out [sold]. If I had sold frig and microwave, would have broken even or made money over cost of unit. [8D]

I did electrical so buried number 4 stranded 3 wire with ground 200 feet $200 Grady again buried cable [put in used conduit and plastic pipe to insure Wifey does not dig and cut]. Since feeding from 100 amp circuit in shop, bypassed meter base [straight wired across meter poles] and used main breaker there. Drove a neutral for extra protection [shortest distance to ground]. Also adequate main breaker inside in main box.&nbs
