Train Collection Database

What database do you use to manage your collection?

I am currently using Train Minder. Train Minder is a pretty comprehensive database with one major short coming - their ‘reports’ are listed as’ views’, and when you try to print the ‘view’ it comes out in an elaborate tform rhat wastes space and looks like hell. You can not format the way it prints.

Train Minder used to go to York and have a table there. They haven’t been toYyork in over 2-1/2 years. Evidently, they do not want to support their customers.

Any thoughts?

Good old Microsoft Excel for me. Mac version, of course.

I am also using Excel. Simple, searchable, able to sort the data.

MI trains has a free on-line database tool. Unfortunately you cannot customize the reports.

I use a .txt file and the DOS editor. If I need to extract any information from the file, I write a QBasic program to do it.

I built my own in Microsoft Access.

Hi Bruce,

I just started using Easy Model Railroad Inventory. It’s free and comprehensive. Here is the site: http://easy-model-railroad-inventory.rclsoftware.com/

Microsoft Access or Excel works for me.
