Train Collision

http://www.jonesborosun.com/story.php?ID=22945 (I wonder if the truck driver was listening to some LOUD music! I know this crossing, and ANY trains coming down this track are EASILY heard!!!)

The report has a more detailed (and accurate) description of the BNSF locomotive than one normally sees in newspaper reports.

Accurate? I’ve never heard of an SP40-2 before. Nice try though.

I didn’t say perfect - just more accurate than normal!

Agree, at least they tried.

Well, possibly not just “Loud Music”;were the windows up? how soundproof is the cab of the truck?
In this day and age of people not wanting to hear road and other outside noises, maybe the truck was
too soundproofed to hear the train horn…After all, people always say they can can never hear
the sound of the siren of the emergency vehicle that hit them either!!!
And the people want to hear less decibels of noise, want better soundproofing, and then say they
can’t hear anything?[%-)]

From a former EMT/Firefighter who is on disability, because a certain person with windows
rolled all the way up, “couldn’t see or hear us”!!
