Train crew saves man

Thought I’d pass this along.

A crew from the Allegheny Valley RR in Pittsburgh saved an elderly man who drove his car on the tracks. The car caught fire from sparks created from driving along the tracks.

Luckily the crew got the train stopped in time and were able to pull him out.

Here’s a link to the story.

A GREAT BIG KUDOS to the train crew for that one!!!

That gentleman owes his life to some quick thinking
by the crewmen.

way to go, guys!

Well said! Based on what I read in the article, they seem to be very humble about it. The guy really does owe his life to them. Great job to the crew!

Congratulations and a [bow] to the train crew. Glad they were able to
rescue the elderly man. Many kudos to them on a job well done!! I would
imagine that he is still thanking the crew!!

Glad the crew was able to react in time.good job!!!
stay safe

Humm, a pair of kids…
Which proves wrong all those who say the younger generation is no good…seems like at least one railroad hired a pair of good ones!

Dudes did a fantastic job!

yah, 23 years old and an engineer already? I am jealous. Are the superconductors calling him a “teddybear”?

Having been in a similar situation but unfortunatly being unsuccessfull at extricating the victom (and getting myself burned pretty good) I have to say GOOD JOB GUYS !!!

Chad, are you a fireman, or a brave engineer?
That crew deserves an AWARD!!!

No, just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I had nightmares about that for a long time. Burning alive is a absolutely horrible way to go. If only I would have been there a few seconds earlier. But you can’t go back in time. It’s really great that those guys were able to save that man.

I did fight forrest fires for a few years after high school. I had fun doing that but it’s hard work.

Well said brother well said [:D]

And just what in the world was the old man doing on the tracks?Did he have Alzheimers?

Hats off to you for doing what you could when you were in the similar situation. Unfortunately not every story has a happy ending but I think your efforts should be acknowledged as well!
