Train derails in Waukesha.

I just read in the paper this morning that a Wisconsin central train derailed yesterday in waukesha blocking all of the crossing leading though. The city the train was 2600 feet long and they said an engine and 8 cars derailed from the tracks spilling fuel and they have not said yet what caused the train to derail. But they said it should have been cleared up by 12:00 today.

Yep, was my former employer, Wisconsin and Southern. Word going around was the train derailed on their own track just before the Grand Ave. interlocking, and piled up on the other side of town.

I predict the Feds taking a REEEAL close look at the WSOR again.

You missed it, there is already a thread started on this subject here:

It sounds like this is completely the WSOR’s fault too, the crew failed to notice an axle dragging on the engine on their trackage before entering the CN, despite having a nice curve to look back at their train just before the switch to the CN…
