Does anyone know where I can find hangers to hand track from a ceiling, or where to find info about putting up a train shelf arond a room above the door line?
One way would be to find the ceiling joists, screw in some eye hook bolts into them, suspend precut plywood (with the track) in the shape of the layout from threaded rod that is held in place by rod nuts, brackets, and washers. by raising and lowering the plywood layout when turning the nuts on the rod will make it easy to level the plywood layout…once you’re done then trim the plywood with a wood paneling fascia.

There are some other companies that build systems like this but they get rather pricy. One I looked at was around $25 a foot! Most of them use G scale equipment too. In the end I built my own system for HO scale trains running 2 tracks, one above the other, around the walls of my small home office. It took more time but it was worth it. [8D]
I made my own using baltic birch plywood and birch dimensional stock for the brackets. By using baltic plywood there was no need to use any edge molding, used 1/2 inch round over bit and used a clear poly finish for a furniture grade look. For the brackets I used a 45* chamfering bit with the same finish.
