Train hits truck in Rock, Kansas!!!!!!!!!!!!!

today a train hit a semi truck at a unguarded crossing in Rock Kansas.
it killed the semi driver robert nelson 77
and there was an explosion
and the train and truck engulfed in flames
the engine was a conrail conrail quality, with a roadrailler train
thsi was on bnsf rails

I’m guessing its on the BNSF…I see alot of NS(ex Conrail) units in IL on the BNSF.

Did you happen to get the # of the engine(s).

That is sad. There was really know way for the driver of the truck to survive that.[:(]

Condolances to ALL family members, both truck driver and train crew.

I saw that engine on saturday! Also, it was probably the same engineer because he is the only one i see on that train[:0]

While am very sorry for the loss to the family of the man whose died it just goes to prove that STOP, LOOK & LISTEN must be the keywords especially when crossing a unguarded grade crossings.

[:(!] I am getting sick and tired of people disregarding the crossing gates first a ice cream truck getting hit in Augusta,GA then the Amtrak then this I hope they do something about this in a couple of years or so.

It’s called “Operation Lifesaver”. Millions are spent each and every year to educate the public about railroad crossings and train movements. Seems as though the information falls on deaf ears. The program has become part of safety policy of some utility companies. Before I retired, my former company participated with “Operation Lifesaver”.
