Good afternoon everyone how is we all doing today fine and dandy.I was just reading on TMJ4’s website that a northbound Cp train hit a truck at the crossing of Maple ave and College ave. The truck was carrying concrete for the new carroll college building. The 72 year old truck driver backed his truck on to the tracks and then the gates came down and he could not get the truck off of the tracks in time the driver was not injured but he was taken to the hospital to be checked out. The engine was badly damaged and will have to be towed from the scene by another engine the crossing will be closed for a while they clean up the all of the dumped concrete.
It was CN, not CP. 8:45 a.m. Js Online story … TMJ-4 story
“A 72-year-old semi-truck driver escaped injury this morning when his truck was struck by a freight train on College Ave. in Waukesha.”
Will defer to someone who was actually there.
Well if is was a CN train then how come even TMJ 4’s. Web site says that it was a CP train.
Because TMJ got their facts wrong. Imagine that, a media outlet being wrong! Who would have guessed?
It’s been well documented that it was a CN train that was hit, not a CP train.

Ok now i feel really dumb cause i went off and believed a media outlet but then again. Usually channel 4 news here in milwaukee for the most part the best in reporting breaking news but every once in a while even the best get things wrong.
Looks like they got it right (video): http://www.todaystmj4.com/news/local/16144037.html?video=pop&t=a&brand=mkevideo
Ah well. Some road maps still say Soo Line so at least they didn’t make that mistake. Waukesha is a difficult city to drive in and it is possible to get trapped at a crossing without realizing what is happening. Ordinarily the train wins these little battles hands down but a concrete load is another matter.
