This is strange. A “smart” kid probally got mixed up into something bad for him. This is not a normal situation. Very sad, and very strange. [:(] [V]

MAN,

That is very sad.
And I agree with Jim,something was going on.

That’s a very sad story. Sorry to hear about it. [:(]

To paraphrase the Bard: There’s something rotten in the state of Kansas. Not often someone ties themselves to the tracks. A tragic loss, to be sure. If “rumors” are flying, there is most likely more than is being told, and I, too, doubt that it’s good. My thoughts to out to his loved ones.

Amen Larry.

I SINCERELY HOPE the authorities find whomever tied him to the tracks and USE the
baleing wire on THEM.

PLEASE let us all pray for that young man’s family and friends and for the train crew
who found him tied to the tracks.

There has to be much more to the story that will have to be discovered and prosecuted.

RIP

That has to be a homicide, if he was tied to the tracks. Kansas police officers had better do some heavy investigating on this one.

May he rest in peace.

[:(!]Those that commited the crime, should be put through the same, life, or leathal injection doesn’t seem harsh enough.[:(!]

Pardon me saying the above, but it is definately sick, twisted, wrong, and uncalled for to murder someone like that.

May God rest his soul, and help his parents and family get through this awful tragedy. It sounds like he was hanging out with the wrong crowd.

Take care,

Russell

We had an “accident” somewhat like that here in Arkansas in the late 1980s. Two young men were found “asleep” on the tracks. That is AFTER the train ran over them. There was no movement before the “accident” and certainly none afterward. This “accident” was featured on the show that Robert Stack hosted about unsolved mysteries. There are many rumors, even today, that they saw something or heard something they shouldn’t have and whatever it was cost them their lives. They were both mid teens I believe. I don’t believe there has ever been a trial. Another sad but true story. [:(] [V] [:(]

In Orlando, FL in the early 90’s, for about 4 months once or twice a week a train would run over a person laying across the tracks…they would never move and would never look toward the sound of the trains…by the time the police, corner, medical examiner and probably the dog catcher were brought to the scene to investigate and perform their duties…4 to 6 hours would elapse. Ultimately it was determined that there was a turf war in the Orlando drug trade and the railroad was being used to ‘grind up’ the bodies and destroy or mutilate the evidence that the deceased contained.

[:(!]This is a very disturbing story. I hope the police find the degenerates who did this, and bring them to a swift and much deserved justice.[:(!]

That’s creepy, imagine being tied to the tracks, and just hoping a train won’t come by…

The sounds of the whislte would be one mighty scary sound.

No one would have wanted to have been in the young mans shoes. This is if he even had any on. Sounds like more than a murder, possible sexual assult, or even worse. But now that is all speculation.

And what about the engine crew? IF they saw him before the “hit” what terror went through their minds. This is not a good story, not for the young man’s family or the engine crew.

I hope that all who read about this will certainly be more mindful of events around them and take care of themselves and watch out for their friends too.

Please don’t put yourself into a situation with people of unknown character. Be careful and mindful of events and avoid places and people who might do you harm. These words come much to late for a young man of 19 years but maybe someone else can benefit from them. I certainly hope so.

Jim, I agree with your last reply, along with several other’s replies.

AMEN

i have some bad news[V]

there have been no arrests in this case at all so far.[:0][:0]

Quoted from the article:
“The Sumner County Sheriff’s Department is not saying whether it considers the death a homicide.”

Yea, must have been a suicide; got all depressed and tied himself to the tracks.

Sounds like a serious donut shortage at the Sumner County Sheriff Department, causing a drop in blood-sugar levels, resulting in less-than-stellar operations.

my condolances to the family.
stay safe
Joe
