If you are into live steam, and you have the time, the weekend of April 28 and 29, 2007 is Steam Days at the B&O Museum in Baltimore, MD. The B&O Museum has a train ride that rides the first 1.5 miles of railroad ever laid in the United States. During Steam Days, the deisel switcher that is typically used on the straightline trip is replaced with a Steam Locomotive!
Steam Days Saturday, April 28 & Sunday, April 29, 2007 Saturday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Ride behind the St. Elizabeth, a 1950 Porter built-saddle tank steam engine. Programs and demonstrations highlight steam power and celebrate the Museum’s historic steam engine collection, which includes icons such as the oldest operating steam locomotive William Mason, the Tom Thumb, and Lafayette.
