South Shore Model Railway Club, Inc. presents Our Annual Spring Train Show!
This Weekend, March 15th (9am to 4pm) and 16th (10am to 4pm). The show is located in the club building on both days, with an additional location on Sunday only at the South Shore Country Club across the street.
Founded in 1938 in the basement of a store in Quincy, MA, the club has been in continuous operation in HO scale ever since. The club’s most ambitious move was in the Spring of 1998 with its move to a 10,000 square-foot facility in Bare Cove Park in Hingham, MA. The building was used by the U.S. Navy as a warehouse for ammunition storage during W.W. I & II. After many years of work, we now have one of the finest club buildings in America. Currently, our layout is about 1/3rd built, and we expect to run up to 8-10 trains at once with our computer dispatched Digitrax DCC system.
There will be snacks, cookies, soda, coffee available in the club, as well as two bathrooms. We are also ADA compliant and a 501(c)3 Not For Profit corporation.
I hope to see you there! And if you know “bogp40”, he’ll be there, too!

Gee, Paul, we posted almost at the same time. That should teach me to pay attention instead of messing w/ Photobucket… Methinks, I better pay attention, especially at the throttle of that Chessie coal drag. Da, can’t figure why no one wants to run trains in front of me. I only tag a caboose once in a while.
I went to this show last fall, and really enjoyed it. The club layout is well set up for viewing, even by the large crowd that was there that day. I picked up a few things from the vendors and even the club’s own white elephant tables, too.
I’d love to come down again to see the winter’s progress, but I’ll be “comin’ 'round the mountain” on a pair of skis this weekend. So, have fun, everyone!
I would like to go …… but I live in So cal & its not Summer so I can’t. [:(]I cannot plan a vacation on a Thursday, 2 days from when yhe show started. I’m so dissapointed! Hope you have a great time!
Never mind. I got this confused with another show. When I told my dad it was in Hingham, he said we couldn’t go. I wish I was old enough to drive…[banghead]
Too bad, I wish I could meet some other forum members! [sigh]
