train show in Kansas City, MO...worthwhile?

There’s a train show in K.C., MO this weekend. Anyone attended before? Is it worth a 2 hr. 1-way trip to attend?

Where and when is it? We live 300 miles from KC, but it’s the closest show for us. Is there a site with information about it?

The show tomorrow is at the BTC Exhibit Hall, I-435 and Front Street from 9am to 2pm. Admission is $5.00 with children under 12 free. It is not a real big show… but I’m in the “summer-time” slumps, and I’m going. Just an F.Y.I. for you, on Aug. 21st. the NMRA Turkey Creek Division is having their “meet” in Lenexa, Kansas and usually they have a “show & sales” type affair… but that’s not for sure this year. You can contact them at:

rgskansas@mindspring.com (and their site is: www.tc-nmra.org )

Hope this info helps… Bob / IronGoat

Another FYI…

I checked out the Turkey Creek site ( www. tc-nmra.org ) and it looks like they are going to have their usual GOOD show. I missed last year, but the one in 2002 was one of the better shows I have ever attended, it had display layouts, sales, clinics, etc., that was 1st quality.

Thanks, Bob/IronGoat for your info. In a slump, sounds like one should take advatange of what one can get!

Well, I just got back from the train show, and it was not real “whoopy” just as I thought… so I’ll wait two weeks for the Lenexa, Kansas show (that is usualy well worth the trip) !
