I did a Google search this mourning for train sounds. A whole bunch of sites came up. (all free for the taking) I downloaded about 25 megs of train sounds and burned a CD from all of it. I played it in my train building tonight while I was working on the layout. THAT WAS FUN!!! WAY better than listening to rock or talk radio!!! I wonder if my neighbors are wondering when the railroad laid tracks in the area.(had it cranked up)
I have a spare 500 watt Dennon receiver that I want to hook up out there. Just need to build some speakers that can take it.[}:)][}:)][}:)][}:)][}:)]
I don’t know which I like better, old steam chuff sounds, or 20,000 hp deisel lash ups going 80mph![}:)] (pitty the neighors)
What a demented thing to do!!!
Can you burn me a copy??? I have some neighbors…
Great for one of those foggy nights…
Brad
Just download them yourself and tell your neighbors Loathar made you do it![}:)][:-,]
Loathar, can you give us some of the websites?
One of my favorites is: http://www.dieselairhorns.com Absolutely cool!
If you just google “train sounds” you’ll see a bunch of sites. You’ll just have to weed through them. Some only have a couple sounds and some have 20 or more.
Any file you see, right click on it and then click “save target as”.
Sorry, I went to way too many sites to have bookmarked them.(pages and pages)

That reciever should really make a nice FFFFFFFFFFFWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOO (if you choose steam)- it ought to be louder than an actual SD40-2 LOUD! LOUD! LOUD! Who need loco’s w/ built in sound- just play a CD of train sounds.
if you go to wwww.broadway-limited.com/products they have sound clips from their locomtives- click on the loco and there is a soundbyte option on the item description- i can’t get all of them to work- just the 2-8-2 and SD40-2 have worked for me.
Found a bunch more by doing a Google for “locomotive sounds” The Carrslocomotive.com site is GREAT! Their catagorizes by loco type. Just right click on the loco picture in the sounds section.
Those T-1’s warm the heart.
Oooohhhhhh, that K4s brought tingles to my spine and tears to my eyes.
