Sorry about not updating on Suday my DSL was down, glad to see the troll damage is fixed. Rember the best way to stop a troll is to post a troll warning in which you say the person is a troll and do not respond, then email Bergie.
The ATSF built a line through Dodge City in 1883. This is according to the Routledge Historical Atlas of American Railroads.

I said 1883. Just a random guess because I have no idea what the answer is.[:)]

From what I researched, I would say: None of the above.

The ATSF built a line through Dodge City in 1883. This is according to the Routledge Historical Atlas of American Railroads.

Interesting, cause according to this site, it was September, 1872.

I am not sure maybe my map indicates the completion of the whole line that ran through Dodge City.

You may very well be right. When looking at history, how a historian looked at a particular event often shows in some of the facts given about it. It is very common to find different dates given for seemingly the same event.

Enjoy your trains!

Hey Lotus…did the Speedy Gonzales trivia get answered? I can’t find it!

Rotor

It got moved to Train.com during the shutdown, here it is.

In the Speedy Gonzalez cartoon West of the Pesos Speedy makes fun of the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe, by calling them the____________________?

  1. Atchison Topeka & Santa Hose’
  2. Atchison Tobacco & Santa Fe
  3. Ashyton Topeka & Santa Fe
  4. Atchinson Tobasco & Santa Fe
The answer was number 4, Atchinsons Tobasco& Santa Fe, think hot sauce. So did you get it right?

By 1883, the Santa Fe was WAY beyond Dodge City–in fact it had already stolen Raton Pass from the Rio Grande and was in Southern California, busily stealing Cajon Pass away from that crafty old reprobate Collis P.Huntington of the Southern Pacific. I’d say that Santa Fe had reached Dodge City sometime in the 1870’s, myself.
Tom

Nope…I went with answer one! [:(]
