Have fun! (Courtesy of Lotus098)
i’d say 0-10-0
I would guess the connie as it was a heavy freight engine. The 4-6-2 was used primarily as apassenger engine and was pretty rare then. The mogul was not a heavy engine and was used for light frieght and yard work. Never have seen a 0-10-0 so I don’t know about that…
Regards to Lotus! My vote is for the 0-10-0.
4-6-2?
4-6-2 would be indicative of a passenger train back then as the leading trucks were used to help keep the train on the track at high speeds. I don’t think 0-10-0 were around in 1891, but I could be mistaken. My vote 2-8-0. They were used for hauling heavy loads over the Alleghanies by the Western Maryland and were popular up until the 40’s as they advanced in design.
I vote for the 0-10-0. Don’t know if they had one then or not.
Enjoy
Paul
I would guess a 2-6-0 cause in 1896 a 4-6-0 was considered a heavy mountain type on the SP.
4-6-2

Id say this is a very dumb topic but thats just my opinion, have fun
I know the Northern Pacific had two 2-10-0 locos in 1887, but I don’t know how much they weighed.
The 2-8-0’s that I know of from that time period were tiny.
I don’t think the Pacific class as we know it really make a big appearance until 1895 or so. But if they did exist they were probably pretty stout.
Soooo I’ll guess 0-10-0 some monster lugger for coal back east!
Homer
Why ven answer if you think its dumb
My vote goes for the 2-8-0
I’ll guess 0-10-0 but 2-8-0 is probably more likely.
polls close in 4 hours! This is a 2 part series!
I’ll say 2-8-0.
2-8-0
0-10-0! The next one is coming soon on the same topic!
