Ok, lets see
Planes, Trains and Automobiles was much newer than steam trains so I’ll eliminate that one.

Don’t even remember a train in Of Mice and Men.

Natty Gann is a good choice the scenery is right for BC. I haven’t seen that movie for 20 years or so but I don’t think the is was a consolidated, I think it was a Mike.

The National Dream is Canadian themed so I’ll guess that one. – B.

hmmm… no clue??? what happened to lostus098s train trivia??? Tim

Lotus 098 was kicked off of trains.com last week, so I am taking over from him. Some of my topics I will even get from him, like the last two.
Yes, there was a train in Of Mice and Men, otherwise I wouldn’t have included it! And since there is a train, it sure might have been 3716! (Which with it’s stainless steel boiler jacket and feedwater heater actually looks quite modern)

Answer: The journy of Natty Gann (No G on the Natty!)
Disguised as CB&Q 863, with a high headlight.
The locomotive used in The Last Spike and The National Dream was a 4-4-0, with 2 different numbers for filming.
