The CB&Q had a passenger car they called the “Bird Cage”. It is unknown exactly what this was, but based on the few corporate memos where it is mentioned it is widely believed to be a 1890’s equivalent of a dome car.

No idea actually, considering the way B&O’s round houses looked they always seemed like bird cages to me.
